Since the end of the 1970s, Tristan Jeanne-Valès has had a keen interest in Fado. “The theme of popular traditional music has always fascinated me,” says Jeanne-Valès. “I keep my eyes open for moments during which it feels like photography is finally possible... Arms, night... I've often seen the deep sorrow and song, the power of being there at that moment... Life, fire, spirits, sweat, glances... A holy pride is what they all have in common. For the photographer-wanderer, the journey is endless.
